AATM fellowship program is an innovative manpower development program started by AATM International as a larger component of total quality management (TQM) in blood transfusion services from South Asian countries. This program is open to AATM members ONLY who are current annual member or life member or current institutional member.
This program empowers AATM members to obtain training for a period of 4-6 weeks in a AATM designated foreign training center in a knowledge deficient area of the applicant’s country. There are a set of fellowship for medical doctors and another set for blood bank technologists. The fellowship covers economy class airfare for the candidate (by the shortest route) and a per diem for the candidates for the training period in that country. A per diem of US$ 50 for technologists and per diem of US$ 60 for medical doctors will be paid by AATM International. Per diem will be paid from the date of enrolment in the training institute to the relieving date. No other payment will be made for any other incidental expenses including visa fees. The candidate will have to submit one project report as assigned by the supervisor of the training institute before completion of fellowship. Fellowship completion certificate will be issued by the training institute at the end of fellowship; however, fellowship certificate from AATM International will be handed over during the next annual conference of AATM.
How to apply: AATM member has to apply for fellowship in the application form posted in the website and should submit to AATM-head quarter (HQ) within stipulated period as per instruction posted in the website. Only current AATM annual, life, associate or institutional (one from each institute) members can apply for fellowship. It is open for members who are not more than 45 years of age (on the closing date of application). AATM members from all nationalities may apply however; recommendation from country chapter is desirable wherever country chapter exists. Applicant is advised to download the form, type information in the soft copy (or filled up with capital letters), signed by self and by the competent authority with seal (who can relieve the person from duty, if selected). The scanned copy of application and supporting documents should be sent to AATM-HQ for prompt action. Original copies should be submitted to the office of the country chapter for verification. If no country chapter exists, original certificates should be sent by secure post to the AATM-HQ. All necessary formalities for trans-border training should be the responsibility of the candidates. AATM will provide only documentary support to obtain visa and government permission (if necessary). However, candidates are advised to coordinate with respective country chapters.
Selection process: There will be one ‘fellowship committee’ which will be responsible for selection, coordination with training centers for training/ posting and completion of other formalities. All applicants are advised to mark a copy of the application and all other correspondence to the respective country chapters. AATM country chapters will be actively involved in this whole process for respective candidates.
This program is being jointly launched by AATM with the help of like minded corporate for manpower development in this part of the world. The financial part is being supported by corporate under corporate sponsorship program.
